Hot-dip galvanizing
The largest use of zinc ingot. Slabs or jumbo blocks are melted into the kettle that coats structural steel, fasteners and fabricated parts.
Zinc ingot supplier in Turkey for hot-dip galvanizers, brass mills and die-casting alloy producers. SHG zinc ingot at 99.995% minimum purity to ASTM B6, EN 1179 and ISO 752, with High Grade 99.95% for brass and general alloying. Zinc ingot for sale in bulk, exported from Turkey under FOB, CIF, CFR and DAP terms.

Zinc ingot is refined zinc metal cast into slabs for remelting. It feeds hot-dip galvanizing kettles, brass and bronze melts and zinc die-casting alloy production. Buyers specify it by grade: a zinc minimum, plus a maximum for lead, cadmium, iron, tin, copper and aluminum. Atso Tek is an Istanbul-based trade company and bulk zinc ingot supplier, quoting against the standard your process names for buyers in Turkey and for export.
Zinc ingot is sold by purity grade, and the same grade carries a different name in each standard. Quote the zinc minimum and the standard together. Availability of each grade is confirmed on the offer.
The grade the LME zinc contract trades: 99.995% zinc minimum, with lead and cadmium at 0.003% maximum and iron at 0.002%. ASTM B6 lists this chemistry as LME Grade, EN 1179 as Z1 and ISO 752 as ZN-1. The default for galvanizing baths, die-casting alloy production and any melt where impurities are tightly controlled.
One step below the 99.995% grade, with total impurities up to 0.010%. ASTM B6 uses the name Special High Grade for this chemistry and EN 1179 calls it Z2, which is why the letters SHG alone are not enough on an order. Used where the specification asks for 99.99% rather than 99.995%.
99.95% zinc, with lead allowed up to 0.03% and iron up to 0.02%. ASTM B6 High Grade, EN 1179 Z3. Chosen for brass production, general alloying and galvanizing work that does not call for SHG chemistry.
Limits per ASTM B6, in mass percent. Zinc is a minimum; every other element is a maximum. The certificate of analysis for each lot is checked against the grade you order.
| Element | Zn 99.995 | Zn 99.99 | Zn 99.95 | Unit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ASTM B6 grade | LME Grade | Special High Grade | High Grade | |
| EN 1179 grade | Z1 | Z2 | Z3 | |
| Zinc (Zn), min | 99.995 | 99.990 | 99.95 | % |
| Lead (Pb), max | 0.003 | 0.003 | 0.03 | % |
| Cadmium (Cd), max | 0.003 | 0.003 | 0.01 | % |
| Iron (Fe), max | 0.002 | 0.003 | 0.02 | % |
| Tin (Sn), max | 0.001 | 0.001 | 0.001 | % |
| Copper (Cu), max | 0.001 | 0.002 | 0.002 | % |
| Aluminum (Al), max | 0.001 | 0.002 | 0.01 | % |
Note: Source: ASTM B6, Standard Specification for Zinc. EN 1179 and ISO 752 define equivalent grades with small differences, for example EN 1179 Z2 allows lead up to 0.005% and Z3 limits cadmium to 0.005%. These are standard limits, not a lot analysis; the certificate of analysis for your lot is issued with the shipment.
Zinc ingot is a remelt product. The grade is chosen by how much lead, cadmium and iron the downstream process tolerates.

The largest use of zinc ingot. Slabs or jumbo blocks are melted into the kettle that coats structural steel, fasteners and fabricated parts.
Strip and wire lines run on high-purity zinc so the bath chemistry and its aluminum addition stay under control.
Zinc is alloyed with copper to make brass. High Grade or SHG is chosen by how much lead and iron the alloy tolerates.
Zinc die-casting alloys start from high-purity zinc, because trace lead, cadmium and tin cause intergranular corrosion in the casting.
Every zinc ingot shipment ships with the paperwork you need to clear customs and pass incoming inspection.
Standard specification for zinc: LME Grade, Special High Grade, High Grade
Primary zinc, grades Z1 to Z5
Zinc ingots, grades ZN-1 to ZN-5
Unwrought zinc; 7901.11 covers zinc of 99.99% and above
In market use, SHG means 99.995% zinc minimum, the grade deliverable on the LME. ASTM B6 calls that chemistry LME Grade and uses the name Special High Grade for 99.990%; EN 1179 calls them Z1 and Z2. To avoid a mismatch, write the zinc minimum and the standard on the order, not just the letters SHG.
